This beach trip was my very first trip again to the beach after being pregnant and giving birth to my beautiful Gianna. I’m not gonna lie,I was really excited and I felt like a young kid again.haha I missed going to the beach so much and most of all I missed being in the company of my friends. Before I got pregnant and got married, I lived a carefree life. I’d go out if I want to, go to the beach if I want to, do whatever I want to do. But when I got pregnant, everything changed. Suddenly,a woman who only thinks of herself, now had to think of this precious gift inside of her. When my husband and I had Gianna, we were really nervous but really very excited. We were so ready for this another chapter in our lives. But we all know, having a baby is never easy. You have to change your old ways, you have to ditch your bad habits. Sacrifice at it’s finest! Even going to the beach was not an option anymore, coz during summer last year was also the first trimester of my pregnancy and man that was really tough. Feeling sick almost everyday and throwing up all over the place, going to the beach wasn’t even a priority anymore, unlike before. But hey no complaints! It was all worth it. I’d sacrifice anything for my child.Any parent would.

Image

So now, after a year, I had a great comeback.haha I was really frustrated at first coz I thought I wouldn’t be able to go with my wonderful friends. Thank God I have an amazing husband! He gave me a go signal to go by myself since he can’t come with me coz he has to work. Bummer! But then I had to leave Gia and Thea and let me tell you, that wasn’t easy! Separation anxiety kicked in but I told myself,my little girls will be fine with their Dad,I’m sure he’ll take good care of them. That would be a perfect time for them to spend quality time together and this is the only opportunity for me to have my “ME” time! :)

Image

See, I’ve always believed that having a child doesn’t mean letting yourself go. Having a child should make you a better person. And what would make you a better person? a better parent? Simply by being happy.Being happy with what you’re doing, with your responsibilities, with your obligations as a parent and as a wife. And everything will just fall into place. (A favorite quote by my good friend and Gia’s godmother,Erin.)

Image

We shouldn’t let ourselves go! Do what you love to do. Do what makes you happy.Read a book. Go shopping. Watch a movie. Put some makeup on. Make yourself more beautiful! Spend time with your friends every now and then. Do something crazy once in a while. Spend quality time with your husband.Have SEX!haha But we should always know our priority. And our priority should be our family. Our husband and our children.

ImageImage

This beach trip made me happy.I went to a place that I love so much. I got to spend time with my favorite people. I got to be alone even for a short time. And I’ve learned that being alone gives you the opportunity to reflect and know yourself better. And that’s really important to every person.

Image

Of course I missed my family so much. But when I got home, I was a happier person. And that made them happy too. :)

Favorite Skin Care Products

Published February 10, 2012 by beautyandmadnessisbliss

I love these products. I use One Naturals Body Lotion in Movie Star everyday. It has an amazing scent. It really makes you feel like a movie star.haha I got this lotion for only 299.00 and I’ve been using this for 3 months already. It leaves my skin smooth and silky for the whole day.And the best part of this product is that,it’s organic. It doesn’t contain any chemicals. It’s all natural.

Then for my face, depending on my mood, I either wash my face with St. Ives Moisturizing Olive Scrub or St. Ives Daily Microdermabrasion. Then after washing my face, I either moisturize with the St. Ives Timeless Skin Collagen Elastin Moisturizer or Thann Rice Extract Moisturizing Cream. At night before going to sleep, I make sure that I pat on some Avalon Organic Essential Lift Contouring Eye Crème.

These are just my simple skin care routine everyday. These amazing products helps my skin to have a youthful glow. It is very important for me to have a healthy skin, so I make sure that I really take care of it.

Till my next post! :)

Favorite Face Products :)

Published January 23, 2012 by beautyandmadnessisbliss

Hi there dear readers! :) Here’s the continuation of my favorite products. I’m sorry if it took me a long time to post this. I’ve been busy taking care of my kids and also doing some photoshoots for my makeup artistry portfolio. Segue: you can check those pictures on my Facebook page.. haha :)

Okay here we go!

Love these!! :)

1. Fanny Serrano Two Way Cake in Organza – I started using this foundation just last year. I’m a liquid foundation/BB cream kind of girl but after reading the awesome reviews of this foundation, I gotta give it a try. Most of the reviews I’ve read said that this foundation is comparable to Mac Studio Fix. Wow! A local brand being compared to MAC. Amazing right? I got this for only 399.00 and let me tell you that it’s worth every cent. This doesn’t cake on me. This foundation gives a medium to full coverage depending if you use it wet or dry. It doesn’t have that funky smell that other local brands have. It has a very sturdy packaging.  I just wish they placed the mirror on the cap so I don’t have to flip the foundation just to look at the mirror. But overall, this foundation is just amazing. :)

2. Suesh Mirror with Led Light – From the first time I laid eyes on this mirror I fell in love with it. haha This is a handy version of a Vanity table with lights. I always bring this mirror with me. Got this for 380.00 at Suesh Trinoma. Not bad ei! :)

3. Maybelline Instant Age Rewind Undereye Concealer – I got this as a pasalubong from my sister in law when she went to the US for a short vacation. This concealer is amazing. It really covers the dark circles under my eyes. This concealer makes me look fresh. I’m not sure about the price of this concealer but since it’s Maybelline,I’m sure it’s very affordable.

4. Sophie Magic Cheek Tint Cream – My sister gave me this amazing cheek tint and told me I gotta give this a try. So glad I did. This cheek tint gives my cheeks a very natural rosy glow. This is also very affordable. You can buy this for 70pesos. I’m just not sure if this is available in the mall. But you can buy this from Sophie Martin dealers.

5. Revlon Photoready Foundation – As I’ve said earlier, I’m a liquid foundation kind of girl. And this is my Holy grail foundation out of all the foundation I’ve tried. This foundation gives my skin a dewy effect. This looks very natural on me. There are bits of shimmer but that’s not a problem with me since I want that effect on my skin especially during night time. Got this as a pasalubong from my sister in law as well,so I’m not really sure how much it is here in the PI. But in the US, this is way cheaper.

6. Revlon Colorstay Foundation – This foundation photographs beautifully. I use this foundation on my clients especially during photoshoots and weddings. This is the best dupe for Mac Studio Fix fluid. This foundation gives the skin full coverage and this is really long lasting. There are two choices for this foundation depending on your skin type. You can either choose, for Combination/Oily skin or for Normal/Dry skin. Some reviews I’ve read said that this foundation makes their skin breakout but I never really had that kind of problem on me or my clients.Love this! :)

7.  Benefit Hoola Bronzer – This amazing bronzer is not famous for nothing. This is the best bronzer I’ve tried so far. I use this for contouring. This is a matte bronzer. It doesn’t have any shimmers to it which is really good for contouring and it makes contouring look more matural.  I also love the smell of this powder. The only downside to this product is that it’s a bit expensive. You can buy this for 1600 pesos. But hey it can last you a really long time. Hoola is highly pigmented so you don’t really have to use that much product everytime.

8. Benefit High Beam Highlighter – Another one of the bests of Benefit. You will never go wrong with this highlighter. I use this on the top of my cheeks, on the bridge of my nose and on my cupid’s bow. I sometimes use this above my eyebrows for that extra highlight effect. And it does give a healthy and lifting effect on my face. Again, the only downside to this amazing product, since it’s Benefit,it’s a bit expensive compared to other highlighters. You can buy this here in the PI for 1800 pesos I think. But this will really last you a long time.I love this! :)

9. Ellana Minerals Finishing Powder in Butter Rum Coffee – I don’t really use this as a finishing powder. I use this as a highlighter and as an eyeshadow. And this looks amazing on my skin. My skin looks healthy and glowing everytime I use this. The best thing about this product aside from being a mineral powder is that it’s very affordable. I can’t really remember the exact price. I think it’s just 100 pesos for a 1g  jar. ;)

On my next post, I’ll be writing about my favorite skin care products!

Have a good day everyone! :)

Lumang Larawan (1960′s Era Photoshoot)

Published January 16, 2012 by beautyandmadnessisbliss

I was invited by my friend Joie de Vera to do the makeup for a photoshoot last weekend. Joie was the sylist and she also did the hair of the girls during the shoot. It was a 1960′s themed photoshoot for a group of friends. Here are some of the pictures behind the scenes.

Here are the girls during the shoot...

Here's Kris, Before and After .. :)

I didn’t have a hard time doing her makeup since she already had a flawless skin. I just had to correct and conceal some of the dark areas on her face.  The focus of her makeup in this photoshoot was to have a matte, flawless skin and strong eyes. I just had to wing out her eyeliner and I had to use neutrals and browns for her eyeshadow. For her lips, I used a mahogany  lipliner and a brownish pink lipstick with a bit of shimmer. Isn’t she gorgeous? :)

Here are the products I used:

For her Face:

The Bodyshop Skin Primer Matte It

Benefit Erase Paste in Medium

Dollface Concealer Palette

Fanny Serrano Concealer in Sand

Revlon Custom Creations Foundation in Medium #3

Ellana Transluscent Loose Mineral Finishing Powder in Espresso Con Panna

Dollface Contour and Highlight Palette

Dollface Blush Palette

For her Eyes:

Mac Eye Prep + Prime in Medium

Sephora Blockbuster Eyeshadow Palette

Maybelline Gel Eyeliner in Black

Maybelline Great Lash Mascara

Loreal Voluminous Naturale in Black

Urban Decay 24/7 in Zero for her lower lashline

Wet and Wild ColorIcon Eyeliner in White for her Waterline

Fanny Serrano Eyebrow Powder

Sephora Eyebrow Pencil in Brown

Nichido Minerals/Spot Concealer Pencil in Neutral (I used this to highlight her eyebrows.)

For her Lips:

Maybelline Baby Lips Lip Balm

Fanny Serrano Lipstick in Eve of Paris

The tools I used:

Sephora Multi Purpose Sponge

Suesh 21-pcs Brush Set

So there you go.Those are the products I used on Kris. I’ll be posting the official photos during the shoot really soon.

Favorite Lippies 2011! :)

Published January 10, 2012 by beautyandmadnessisbliss

So,here’s the continuation of my favorite products for the year 2011. These are drugstore lipsticks/lip products that I love. When I say favorite products for 2011, these are the products that I love or what I usually wore last year. And I’d still be wearing them this year.haha Does that make sense? haha Okay here we go…

I wore these most of the time last year.. :)

I always pat on/swipe some lip balm on my lips before I apply lipstick. I love Maybelline lipbalms. I love Maybelline Baby Lips in Smoothing Cherry and Maybelline Smooth Color in Strawberry. They really moisturize my lips. If I’m too lazy,I just wear it alone. Each costs 60-70 pesos I think. Can’t really remember..hehe

Let’s start with the lippies I wore most of the time last year. Here are the swatches..

(without flash) from left to right: Ever Bilena Matte Lipstick in Storm, Ianti in #21, Fanny Serrano Liquid Lipstick in Light Petal and Elf Lipstain in Birthday Suit

(with flash) from left to right: Ever Bilena Matte Lipstick in Storm, Ianti in #21, Fanny Serrano Liquid Lipstick in Light Petal and Elf Lipstain in Birthday Suit

Now let’s try them on my lips…

My bare lips.. (with flash)

Ever Bilena Matte Lipstick in Storm (with flash)

I’ve been looking for a really nice red lipstick. A red lipstick that would make me look like a classy lady, and not a hooker.hahaha Well, this one saved me from that hooker look.haha The only problem that I have with this is that it’s not really that matte. As you can see it has a teeny weeny bit of shine. But I can deal with that, I can just swipe this on my lips then blot it off with a tissue then swipe again then pat on some powder to make it look more matte. This is really affordable. I got this for just 120 pesos. Who wouldn’t like that? :)

Ianti in #21 (with flash)

Make-Up-For-Ever-Rouge-Artist-39-Lip-Swatched (PHOTO COURTSEY OF :http://www.kraseybeauty.com)

I got my Ianti lipstick at the Makeup/Beauty Department? (I don’t know what they call it!haha) in Landmark Trinoma. I was roaming around looking for a not so expensive peachy pink lipstick. I was actually looking for a possible dupe for Makeup For Ever’s Rouge Intense lipstick in #38 or 39. I really want one of those lippies, but I don’t wanna feel guilty and spend too much on just one lipstick. So, when I spotted this one, I was so happy!haha I’m not really sure if Ianti cosmetics is a local or a Korean brand, but I don’t really care, this lipstick is amazing. It’s very moisturizing and creamy when you apply it on your lips. The smell is okay. Nothing to fancy, nothing to funky. I can’t really remember how much I got this for. I think around 350-400 pesos. Between that price range. Not bad right? :)

Fanny Serrano’s True Light Liquid Lipstick in Light Petal (with flash)

Led Light and Mirror! :)

I’m not really into lipglosses. I prefer lipbalms and lipsticks. But this one is just too amazing not to try. This is kind of a nude peachy color. And this is perfect for smokey eyes. The best deal when you buy this one is that it has a led light and a a small mirror.haha This is perfect for touch-ups especially when you go clubbing. And I got this for just 299.75 pesos. Very affordable but really good quality. :)

Elf Lipstain in Birthday Suit (with flash)

This is a nude pink color. I’ve tried several Elf products and they’re good for their price. I love this color on me. I sometimes put on a pink lipstick first then I top it off with this one. And it looks really beautiful. But it’s just as beautiful when you wear it alone. With the very affordable price of 250 pesos, you wouldn’t go wrong with this lip product. :)

So,there you go. My favorite lip products for 2011. I’ll write about my favorite face/foundation products on my next post. Till my next post!  :)
